WSL369
Razor Blade Chop Force Tester
The WSL369 Chop Force Tester is a bench top mounted unit for testing the edge quality of razor blades.
Featuring a vertical ball screw-driven motorised test frame, designed to apply compressive chop forces using a Mecmesin AFG100, 2-100N digital force gauge with load measurement accuracy of 0.1% of full-scale.
Fitted with a universal blade holder assembly for quick and easy mounting of either Double or Single edge razorblades.
The test bed incorporates a servomotor operated horizontal linear lead screw drive table with a 120mm stroke for mounting Whatman chop test paper, allowing a maximum of 100 individual chop tests automatically.
Features
- Micro stepping (0.01mm resolution) ball screw drive for extremely accurate and consistent test speed
- Multiple selectable cutting speeds and chops
- Minimum cycle time by employing fast approach and fast return of blade
- Datum positions stored electronically
- Universal blade holder using edge location – no need to change holder for different blade types
- Easily accessible Blade holder for quick and easy loading and removal of the razorblade
- Mecmesin 100N digital force gauge is used for measuring cutting forces
- Paper advance via stepper motor operated lead screw enabling up to 100 chop force measurements per blade
- Can be used as a standalone unit or networked to a central PC
- Specifically designed for environments where throughput, productivity and minimal training are vital and where the use of a computer is not always suitable
