Established in 1990, Scientific Vacuum Systems Ltd. (SVS) have specialised in the manufacture of Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) systems. The Company ethos is “Strength in Design”, and this has become the foundation of all their manufactured products. From the simplest electron beam evaporation system to a fully automatic production sputter coater, engineering excellence, quality and reliability are the company's principle values.

SVS have recognised the importance of being amongst the leaders in emerging technologies. SVS are committed to investing in research for new sputtering and evaporation techniques to develop processes such as reactive deposition of oxides, nitrides and oxy-nitrides to a commercial scale. SVS’s most recent commercial success has been the development of the Blue Diamond Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) process, which has resulted in the production of the new V2000 In-Line PECVD and sputter coater for deposition onto 1m² substrates in a continuous production environment. SVS are dedicated to the development and marketing of these new processes and has actively expanded its R&D programme, as well as forming key alliances with universities and research institutions.
